About the Wilderness Medicine Newsletter

The Wilderness Medicine Newsletter started life in 1988 as a paper newsletter. Mailed out bi-monthly it was designed to keep Wilderness First Responders and Wilderness Emergency Medical Technicians up to date with the changing word of wilderness medicine. In 2002 the WMN went through a transformation and changed to a digital format becoming a full-color online journal reaching a larger, global audience. The WMN was still published bi-monthly but the content was expanded considerably.

 

In 2011 the WMN went through another transformation. Main articles still appear bi-monthly, but department columns are published at intervals in between the main articles, resulting in a more steady flow of information. Additionally in 2011 subscribers have access to all back issues dating back to 2002.  Subscribers can search the WMN by content or category for articles on a wide range of treatments for injuries, diseases, and prevention techniques. With subscription rates just $15 a year we feel that it is an exceptional value for an extraordinary resource.
